Wimbledon L-shaped loft conversion

This eight-week conversion involved a popular L-shaped design; which required converting the space in the main house and extending over the rear part of the property. It meant creating a full-width dormer with a mansard roof covering the rear. This sort of conversion adds about 30m square to a standard Victorian terraced house. It can allow you to create an excellent-sized bedroom with a built-in wardrobe and an en suite bathroom.

In this example we created an ample storage space under the sloping roof with touch-click doors; this is one of Ajax’s signature touches when carrying out a loft conversion. The job included creating an en suite with minimalistic finish, porcelain tiles and natural colouring. The built-in wardrobe used Ikea Pax, custom-made sliding doors. This loft conversion needed four steel beams. All external walls are timber and all walls and roofs are insulated with 100mm or 150mm Kingspan, ensuring heat loss in colder months is reduced; and making sure the loft doesn’t reach uncomfortably high temperatures in summertime. The outside is finished with clay tiles and slates.

Ajax uses only the best materials in order to achieve excellent results. We set ourselves apart from many bigger loft conversion companies that tend to use cheaper materials, to save on costs. We, on the other hand, make a solid vow of meeting the client’s needs to the nth degree. We don’t cut corners and we don’t let our customers down.
